One of the ways to protect vulnerable road users is through road improvements. The ACT Government endeavours to make roads safer. This is the way it has been done up until now.
As a cyclist, I would like to see a lot more priority crossings, particularly on all Principal / Main Community Routes, also known as CBR Cycleways. Priority crossings are recommended in the Active Travel Facilities Design – Municipal Infrastructure Standards.
Principal Community Route (PCR) –A subset of Main Community Routes (MCR) that form direct links between town centres. There are routes that are to include route labels and branding.
